On July 11, 2011 SKOP, Stop Killing Our People, hosted a forum in D.C. One keynote speaker, Cynthia McKinney discussed her recent peace mission to Libya and shared growing concerns about how the mission was “linked to the current U.S. economic crisis” and to the “disinvestments in education, public transportation, health care, hunger, jobs and affordable housing.” McKinney is a former congresswoman who served six terms as a member of the United States House of Representative and was the first African-American woman to represent the state of Georgia.
The forum was held in the intimate setting of a house with chairs lined up in an auditorium arranged to provide viewing of streamed video interviews of Libyan citizens encountered during her trip and filmed by alternative press journalists. Libyans of fair and dark complexions danced in the street kissing photos of Ghaddafi while chanting and smiling on the videos. When McKinney arrived, she greeted the group casually and opened the floor to questions.
“Who are the rebels?” was the first question from the audience. The official answer from the U.S. government is vague, however, the rebels seem to be well connected. “The rebels’ PR is done by the Harbor Group which consists of Hillary Clinton’s chief of staff from 1992 [founder - Joel Johnson] and the managing director of the last three democratic conventions; their accounting firm is Patton and Boggs.” Whoever these mystery rebels are, McKinney related that they seemed to be guilty of tactical racial cleansing.
Ethnic Cleansing of Libyan Towns
Libyans who were, “dark like me” said McKinney were afraid for their lives – citing incidents like the attack on the town of Misrata, “which were 99% dark-skinned people.” Her answers all pointed to a suspicious connection between NATO, ulterior motives and the mysterious rebels – even entertaining the idea that the rebels may be linked to Al Qaeda.
The motives: 144 tons of gold & a primordial water supply
Ms. McKinney reported the Libyan government has approximately 144 tons of gold with which Ghadaffi plans to create a gold-based African currency. When juxtaposed with the Libyan government’s refusal to accept American currency for oil, a motive is obvious. There is also a vast primordial water supply under Libya which ensures that Libya will not only be a completely self-sustaining country, but will be able to gain wealth through the development of their natural resources, oil and water, and possession of their precious metals.
McKinney told the audience that the American mainstream media portrays a view of Libya that is entirely different from the stories she heard and the things she saw. Alternative journalists accompanied her on her pilgrimage. “There are sanctions for visiting Libya” McKinney told the crowd as she explained she had to take out a $25, 000 loan to pay for the sanctions of the entire crew that traveled with the peace mission. SKOP stated they, “supported the sentiment… with full respect for the capacity and capabilities of people in other nations as expressed in the U.N. charter and its member nations’ agreement with the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.” To donate to Cynthia McKinney’s peace mission, contact the People’s Rights Fund, a 501C non-profit organization at donations@peoplesrightsfund.org
