Intelligent Design?

Arguments on both sides of the debate have essentially been exhausted. Neither camp seems willing to concede victory…yet unsettling cracks occasionally appear in the “con” side of the debate. The arguments of the non-believers contain generally recognized contradictions, and though these inconsistencies fail to allow for a decisive refutation of the “pro” position, they generate sufficient reason for pause.

Is there or is there not a “Divine Architect” of the cosmos and by inference a creator of the galaxies and stars and constellations and mankind? Could there be a benevolent, all-powerful entity underlying the creation of consciousness in the universe and guiding the ethos and progress of human beings? Well…there just may be organic correlations which can inform an opinion in this regard. Consider this:

Albert Einstein once remarked that “God must be a mathematician.” Number is everywhere. Select the number 9 for example…a powerful number with metaphysical importance. The average rate of respiration in human beings is 18 breaths per minute. In an hour, the average is of course, 18 times 60 minutes, which equals 1,080 breaths.

In a period of twenty-four hours, one day, the total number of breaths is 1,080 times 24, which equals 25,920… the same as the number of years in a “Great Year” or a complete precession of the equinoxes. Breathing at 18 breaths per minute, the average human pulse rate is 72 times per minute; seventy-two is the number of years it takes for the earth to transit one zodiacal degree in any of the twelve constellations. The number of years in a cosmic epoch is 432,000. These are all startling correlations and are bound together by the number 9! All of these numerical descriptors total 9 when the digits of the respective sums are added up. Check it out and see. Ancient Egyptian numerology maintains that the number 9 was one of the four omnipotent primordial numbers. It represents humanity, the end of cycles and how these two aspects of creation engage one another.

These numerical correlations may all be elements of a grand coincidence, or it may just be that something of immense importance to the human race has just plain been ignored…
